There are many benefits of having a running board installed on your Jeep Wrangler. A good set of tires and suspension are vital to the success of your vehicle, but with a bad tire set or bad suspension, you'll have trouble maneuvering your Jeep Wrangler and its off road adventures. One of the best ways to help improve performance is by improving the suspension of your vehicle. When you add an improved suspension system to your Jeep's suspension, you'll experience better tire grip, better steering, better traction and more.
Before you begin installing your new suspension system for your Jeep Wrangler, you'll want to take a look at your current suspension system. If it needs some work done, you can always bring in a professional and have them come to your home and inspect it. You'll also want to bring in some tools and other hardware that's needed when installing the system. Make sure that you have the right equipment, and follow these easy steps so that your installation goes smoothly.
First, you should remove your front tires from the rear end of your Jeep. Use your jack, but make sure that the jack is properly secured so that it won't be jerked loose when the suspension starts to shake. After you've secured the front end of the Jeep, make sure that you remove the wheel nuts that hold the wheels in place. Then, carefully pull your new suspension system out of the Jeep and lay it down where you removed the wheel nuts from. Make sure that the screws that hold the suspension in place are lined up with the screws on the new suspension.
Next, you will need to loosen the bolts that hold the running boards in place on the frame of your Jeep Wrangler. The best way to do this is to use a screwdriver, but if you don't have one, you can use a screwdriver, a socket, and a socket wrench in a vice. Loosen the bolts as much as possible, but don't over tighten them as this can damage the running board. Take note of where the bolts go and then loosen them one at a time as you proceed down the length of the frame. Once the bolts are loosened, you can take the running board out with the screws still in them. Once the running board is free from the frame, replace the frame and reinstall the running boards, making sure that they are secure.
Now that your running boards are in place, you need to make sure that the springs on the suspension of your Jeep are adjusted properly. Make sure that your spring tension is in good working order before you start tightening up the springs. Once you've adjusted the springs, you'll need to make sure that they're adjusted properly to the new suspension system you've installed. You can get a measuring tape and make sure that you keep track of how the spring tension needs to be changed depending on how much of a bump you are applying to the suspension.
After that, all that's left to do is put the running boards back in place and tighten them all the way up. Finally, tighten up the lug nuts on the suspension and you are ready to enjoy your new and improved suspension system! With all the work completed, you can now enjoy the smooth ride you have been waiting for!
